Sister Anne Doherty, S.P., was the Superior General of the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana from 1981-1986. During her term, the Constitutions of the Sisters of Providence gained papal approbation. Doherty coordinated the building of Karcher Hall at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods and began renovation of the Church of the Immaculate Conception (Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana).
